A Weekend in Walla Walla - Part Two: Where to Eat

One of my favorite parts of any trip is getting to try some food and unique places! Pretty much the only place we will visit that we can get anywhere is Starbucks, but for meals we try and check out local restaurants! Here are some great options for you if you visit Walla Walla.

Walla Walla Steak Co.

This is a newer addition and was actually under construction the last time we visited so we were so excited to try it! Don't make fun of us... But we totally both ordered soda and didn't have anything to drink. Even though it looked like they made some pretty awesome cocktails!

We ordered this huge steak that serves 2 and is carved table side with an awesome sauce. You could pick 2 sides and we both picked the twice baked potato (which we both love with steak).

We finished this meal with Bananas Foster. Not the best one we've had but still a sweet ending to a great meal!

The Marc Restaurant

This restaurant is located inside of the Marcus Whitman hotel. We had walked through it before, but decided to try it this time so I made reservations. Their appetizers were great and the dinner was yummy! Nothing out of the ordinary here, just really good food and great service.

Walla Walla Bread Company

We actually came here for coffee and dessert on our first trip because after a day of drinking wine, we were tired and just wanted something sweet. (We also felt very old as I'm pretty sure it was like 8:30 at night). The coffee was awesome and is sourced locally and they have a ton of pastries and bakery items to choose from! If you catch them during lunch they have pizza too.

Public House 124

You NEED to grab some truffle fries to-go as a mid-day snack and take them to one of the downtown wineries. We grabbed these on our way to drop into the Bledsoe Family Winery to see if they could accommodate us since we weren't able to get reservations out at Doubleback, owned by the Bledsoe family. We were happy with their lineup of wines for tasting and realized we should have ordered more fries... Haha.

They had seating outside in chairs on the sidewalk and a roped off area with tables and umbrellas in the parking spots outside of their shop.

Truffle fries with wine is magic. Yum!

The Maple Counter Café

Seriously delicious and hearty breakfast options! You will not be disappointed. We loved the biscuits and gravy and the eggs benedict. Those are always our two measurements of a great breakfast place. Get there early so you get on the list! I am disappointed I don't have any pictures from here. But, if you live in Western Washington and can make it up to Bellingham, The Birch Door Café is owned by the same people and the food there is also awesome!

Passatempo Taverna

We went here on our first trip to Walla Walla. From hand-crafted cocktails to homemade pasta dishes, this did not disappoint! This is probably one of the most unique places in Walla and Walla and is a must eat at while you're in town.

It's located right in town and is a perfect place to go after the wineries have closed and you've still got some energy!

The portions are small, so I would recommend ordering an appetizer or two to share with your meal, or order a couple of meals to share. You wont be disappointed. I always recommend making a reservation!

There are so many options for food in Walla Walla, you really cannot go wrong. It's just all about what you like! We always look for something unique and special, but go with your gut. There are a lot of pizza and sandwich options too.

Can't wait to hear about places you've been in Walla Walla!

XOXO,

Rachel
